Tips and Variations

  • Storage - Store in a mason jar with the lid tightly secure for up to a month. I do not suggest leaving this hot fudge recipe out or freezing it. Other sealed container options would work as well.
  • Reheating - I usually reheat the container for a few seconds in the microwave, use what I need, then place it back in the fridge. However, if your container isn’t microwave-safe, you can remove what you need and heat it in the microwave.
  • Swerve substitute - You don’t have to use Swerve if that’s not your brand of preference. You can use any granulated sugar substitute, but be aware that some brands may be stronger or less potent. You may need to adjust the amount of sweetener based on this.
  • Use other chip flavors - If you would like to make other flavors of this dessert, simply swap out the chocolate chips for other flavors. For example, you can use white chocolate chips, butterscotch, caramel, etc.
  • How can I use this hot fudge recipe? - This sauce would go well on a ton of desserts. Of course, my favorite is ice cream, if you can get your hands on some that’s keto-friendly. I’ve enjoyed using it over keto waffles and pancakes as well.

Common Questions About Keto Hot Fudge

How Long Does Homemade Hot Fudge Last?

The sauce will keep in the refrigerator for about two weeks. As long as the container is nice and airtight, you should have no trouble getting at least that much out of it.

I haven’t tried freezing this hot fudge yet, but I wouldn’t suggest it. This will change how the ingredients interact with each other, and it might come out separated once frozen. You can always give it a try if you want to do some testing, though! When you are ready to use it again, simply microwave to the desired temperature.

Who Makes the Best Hot Fudge?

Well, that depends. Everyone has different taste buds. I have had a ton of different hot fudge sundaes and cannot really think of one that stands out to me as the best.

If you were to ask Google, however, they would tell you that title belongs to Harrell’s Hot Fudge. They recently won a taste contest for their tasty recipe. However, there is absolutely no reason why the hot fudge you make can’t be the best!
