Things to Love About These Sliders

  • Under 30 minutes to make
  • Store-bought ingredients
  • Melty cheese, salami, tomato sauce… and butter (enough said)

What Are These Pizza Sliders Like?

These easy Italian Pizza Sliders are almost like a pull apart appetizer or party food. They’re dinner rolls made into mini pizzas with marinara sauce, all kinds of melty cheese, like Mozarella, and salami. And to make them even more delicious, they’re baked with a garlic seasoned butter sauce.

Ummm… they’re so good! And the perfect game day snack!

Slider Recipe Ingredients

This is a quick ingredient list of the ready-made ingredients you’ll need. Specific ingredient measurements are in the recipe card at the bottom of this post.

  • Package of dinner rolls (12-count)
  • Jarred marinara sauce
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Sliced salami (pepperoni, procuitio, sausage, etc)
  • Salted butter
  • Dried Italian Seasoning
  • Garlic powder
  • Red pepper chili flakes

Ingredient Notes

This is the simplist recipe to make and the simpliest to adapt to your own preferences. Here are a few ingredients that are easy to substitute to make the recipe your own.

Dinner Rolls

You will want a soft loaf of pull apart dinner rolls. I used brioche dinner rolls but absolutely love to use King’s Hawaiian Rolls too (the market was fresh out).

Pizza Meats

These sliders are delicious with salami (which I had left from a recent Brunch Breakfast Board) but pepperoni, Canadian bacon, procuitio, or kind of cooked sausage is a delicious substitution as well.

Shredded Cheese

I used all Mozarella because I adore those melty cheese strings when pulling the sliders apart, but… use your favorite cheese or combinations of cheese. Mozarella pairs well with provolone, for example.

How to Make This Pizza Slider Recipe

Begin by slicing the dinner rolls in half lengthwise. Then carefully set the top half aside. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment.

Step 1: Make the Butter Sauce

Melt the butter and stir in Italian Seasoning, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.

Step 2: Build the Pizza Sliders

Set the bottom layer of dinner rolls onto the prepared baking sheet. Then layer on your favorite marinara sauce, spreading to the corners of the rolls. Then sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the top. Finish with layers of salami (or your favorite meat) and half of the Parmesan Cheese.

Carefully lay the dinner roll tops over the Parmesan Cheese.

Step 3: Brush with Butter Sauce and Bake

Brush the melted butter sauce over the tops of the rolls. Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes.

Remove the foil cover and continue baking for another 5 to 7 minutes, just until the sliders are golden and the cheese is melty!

I always have butter sauce leftover and brush the rolls once again when they come out of the oven.
